Description
Defines, plans, and implements the goals and milestones associated with all application development or systems implementation projects. Oversees the analysis, design, execution, and support of all assigned projects, including resource planning, team selection, risk assessment, and budgets. Formal project management will also entail the usage of standardized project management methodology to guide all projects in a consistent, organized, and reliable matter. Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects.Oversee all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Perform a variety of tasks. Lead and direct the work of others. Provide Technical advise.A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs. Creates and maintains detailed documentation for new e-enablement functionality.Formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies. Meets with third parties to understand capabilities. Determines business requirements.Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify Applications.Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks related to Application Development and Management.Utilize expertise and knowledge about advanced technologies and solution to support the growing Business needs.Provides consultation on complex projects.Assists the Director of the Team with various Project Management and General TasksRequirements: A bachelor's degree (BS or BA) preferably in MIS field or equivalent experience.At least 10 years of experience in the IT field or in a related area.At least 2 years of experience in the Project Management or related capacity.At least 3 years of experience in the Business Analysis or related capacity.At least 5 years of experience in the IT development/Programming or related capacity.Insurance Industry (Claims) experience.Excellent Technical Skills.Excellent communication skillsExcellent writing, interpersonal, coordination, and Team Leadership Skills.Excellent Problem Solving Techniques.Excellent Project Portfolio Management Skills.Experienced in Managing Stakeholder Relationships.Experienced in Strategic Planning and Business Development.Experienced in Developing Agreements and Proposals.Experienced in Developing Project Definition, Plans, Risk Management Plans, Quality Plans, and Change Management Plans.Experienced in Event/Issues Management.A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures used for Project Management, Business requirements/analysis, systems analysis, and programming.Knowledge of MS-Office (MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Powerpoint, MS-Access) and other tools such as MS-Project and MS-Visio.Knowledge of Rational Databases.Knowledge of insurance industry, preferably Casualty Claim Management.Knowledge of various requirements management tools (UML, Rational Rose, Caliber-RM, CASE tools etc).Knowledge of IBM iSeries Platform (Midrange IBM AS/400).PMP, CPM preferred.
