Description
*Manages one or more medium to large-sized moderately to highly complex projects to successful implementation. This includes, but is not limited to, assessing variances from the project plan, gathering metrics and developing and implementing changes as necessary ensuring that the project remains within specified scope and is within time, cost and quality objectives. Manages all aspects of the requirements, design, development, and implementation of projects. Helps to develop project milestones, technical status, and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule; identifies ways to resolve schedule issues. Responsible for oral and written presentations/updates to management. Maintains effective communications with project team and support members, corporate operations, and executive management *Provides management and direction to assigned personnel including staff development and training, budget management, feasibility studies, delegation, project and resource control, leadership and teamwork coordination. Conducts project kickoff meetings, communicates individual roles and project expectations, and ensures that all project team members have the tools and training required to perform effectively. Provides work direction and general project management to assigned projects, including scheduling, assignment of work, and review of project efforts to ensure that the project meets specifications as outlined in the conceptual and detail design documents. Responsible for all related supervisory and administrative tasks to include coaching and counseling, and completing performance appraisals for all team members*Conducts formal review with business sponsor, PMO Enterprise Project Office, and IT Application Services at project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction; tracks client satisfaction levels. Project Manager develops and maintains a productive working relationship with project sponsors, vendors, and other project stakeholders

Requirements:

*Bachelors degree and at least six years of project management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience *Certified Project Management Professional (preferred) *AFLAC Project Management certification within one year of hire date (preferred)*Experience in application development processes and life cycle (required)
