We have an immediate need for a Project Manager - Analytical Systems

Contract Opportunity - Initially 6 months duration in Charlotte, NC

Positions in the area of analytic systems specialize in developing modeling systems and high level applications to support real-time trading, deal structuring, research and investment decisions. Individuals are heavily technically and quantitatively oriented and often possess an advanced degree in applied mathematics, physics or statistics, as well as a strong background in computer science.

This function requires extensive knowledge of the product area being supported (e.g. fixed income trading and research, foreign exchange, equity derivatives and swaps) as well as of analytical statistical modeling, and forecasting methods. The primary requirement is not related to traditional programming or systems analysis skills, but to the ability to create sophisticated, value added, analytic systems that support trading decisions, investment decisions, research activates, underwriting, etc.

Plans, manages and reports on one or more projects that are complex in scope, risk and/or organizational span. Defines, coordinates, schedules and assigns project tasks. Responsible for team building and for the working relationships with clients and participating lines of business. Adheres to standard Wachovia project management methodologies and reporting techniques. May have direct supervisory responsibilities for Wachovia employees and/or other contractors. Manages and mentors individuals who directly report to this position. Effectively negotiates assignments of direct reports to specific projects
