Senior Project Manager

SUMMARY
Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects from obtaining requirements to the roll out and training of end users, all while maintaining the budget integrity, time constraints, and objectives of the project. Oversees all aspects of projects. Responsible for facilitating and coordinating projects, by being involved in all phases of the project, Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors, and summarizes progress of the project to management. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project.

Provide proactive interface between the internal and external customers to ensure effective definition of and delivery of the assigned project.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1.Set the Statement of Work with the Customer, Sales and the Project Team for purposes of customer quote and sale of services.
2.Create, review, and evaluate project plans and objectives utilizing project-planning software.
3.Lead and direct one or more project teams by directing the activities of internal and external customers throughout the project to completion, while maintaining customer relationships.
4.Track and report progress relative to time, budget, and demonstrated results.
5.Negotiate with clients, colleagues and outside vendors to establish schedules, milestones, etc.

7.Apply effective project management methodologies and control techniques following the PMI methodologies.
8.Keep informed of clients business initiatives and advances in the IT field.
9.Write project documentation; organize project status and technical meetings, and effectively documenting activities and tracking actions.
10.Unravel, define and document complex business requirements and processes.
11.Lead design sessions and review sessions with technical and business staff, including all levels of management.
12.Manage application design through the various lifecycle stages from business need through design and delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree or in lieu of formal education equivalent work experience required in Business, Math or Computer Science. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years experience in software project management or software development with lead or manager responsibilities preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES COMPETENCIES
Demonstrate ability to project manage multiple, parallels projects.
Strong skills in project schedule development and tracking.
Strong organizational skills, motivation to get the job done.
Excellent communication skills demonstrated by the ability to maintain harmonious relationships with internal and external customers.
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
Ability to make independent decisions by using good judgment in a timely manor.
Ability to deal with high stress situations while maintaining composure.
Demonstrate success in the leading and managing of people in a team-based environment.
