Crowe Chizek's Public Sector Services [PSS] specializes in the delivery of attest services, tax consulting & compliance, financial advisory, business process consulting services, program assessment and outsource management, internal audit and risk management, and business process consulting services. This group of committed and skilled professionals provides their expertise in response to specific client needs in an accounting and consulting capacity. PSS also develops solutions that demonstrate an impact on their clients' organization which add value and improve performance. We currently have an attractive opportunity available in our Indianapolis, IN office for a Project Manager, whose role will primarily focus on information system orientated engagements and client services. You will have the ability to join a high-performing team and assist in the continued growth and development of the practice.


Opportunity:
The role of the PSS, Project Manager is to manage information system oriented engagements within the public sector practice. The initial engagement will be a 2 year project in Wisconsin, which will require this individual to work in Madison, WI, 5 days a week through December of 2006. Ideally this individual will be located in Madison, Chicago or Indianapolis; however, location may be negotiable.


Responsibilities:
Project Management Specific:
â?¢Develop an approach and plan for specific information systems projects. Ability to work with ambiguity and bring necessary structure to a project.
â?¢Manage a specific project, while overseeing a series of projects and project managers.
â?¢Work with and manage personnel from Crowe, client, and 3rd party firms.
â?¢Manage information systems oriented projects of varying sizes and complexities.
â?¢Manage execution of projects, including: scope, time, budget, quality, resources, communications, issues, and risks.
â?¢Manage projects, regardless of whether or not he/she has the subject matter expertise to execute the detailed tasks of the plans.
â?¢Manage technical and business resources, as well as communicate with business and technical personnel within the client.
â?¢Develop the skills and abilities of current PSS project leaders and managers.

Program Management Specific:
â?¢Develop an approach and plan for broader initiatives. Ability to work with ambiguity, help define a strategy, and bring needed structure to a broader initiative.
â?¢Set direction for project teams to allow them to develop and manage their projects.
â?¢Manage multiple project teams (each with their own project manager)
â?¢Establish project disciplines and communication to keep project managers/teams aligned.

Additional:
â?¢Communicate effectively with Crowe, client, and 3rd party firm personnel regarding the progress, risks, etc. of the project or initiative. At a minimum - able to communicate effectively with middle management at the client (or higher).
â?¢Help establish and manage expectations with the client.
â?¢Assist in managing relationships with 3rd party firms participating/partnering on the projects.
â?¢Build strong relationships with clients, and assist in business development activities.
â?¢Grow and develop project managers and project staff (particularly within Crowe, but also within the client where appropriate).
â?¢Help remove roadblocks for teams, and balance conflicting priorities.

Qualifications:
â?¢8+ years of project management experience with demonstrated delivery of projects on-time and on-budget
â?¢3+ years of program management experience with demonstrated delivery of projects on-time and on-budget
â?¢Enterprise project and program management experience in large companies or governmental entities (e.g. Fortune 500 companies, across a State, etc.)
