Description
Working as a project manager, this position will guide and provide systems analysis, design, development, testing and support for mid-sized to large information systems

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

?Requires 4-yr degree in Computer Science or related area, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
?More than 10 years experience in applications development in a client/server environment or specialized applications technology required
?Minimum of 10 years experience with Oracle or other relational database management system is preferred
?Experience with at least three of the following software languages or packages: PL/SQL, MSAccess, Visual Basic, Developer 2000, Lawson Financial/HR System, Domain Clintrial or Clintrace, Oracle Clinical, document management i.e. electronic publishing, submission or imaging or internet development tools.
?Minimum of 3 years experience in project management
?or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provide the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
?Vendor tool certifications


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

?Client focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.
?Must be able to multi task and pay close attention to detail
?Working knowledge with systems in use at PPD or within the CRO/Pharmaceutical industry

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

?Direct supervisor of a department, section, unit or group involving responsibility for results in terms of cost, methods and personnel. Full accountability for hiring, discipline, discharge, performance appraisals, salary administration, etc

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

?Supervises Developers
?Produces project plans
?Works with business to prioritize work
?Works with business to implement work request process
?Manages development of all systems development life cycle deliverables as called for in IT SOPs and WPDs.
?Assures adequate quality and checking is included in all systems development activities
?Plans and budgets for IT expenses and capital
?Travel required frequently
?Long, varied hours required occasionally
?After hours applications support required
