Functional Description:
The IT Project Manager leads large teams in the implementation of multiple IT projects; ensuring projects are delivered on time, withing budget, and to customer specifications. Candidates will be customer-centric with the ability to successfully manage all phases of a project from initiation to close.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE will have extensive experience in all the key competencies noted below:

Information Technology Project Management
  • Principles and practices of technical project management
  • 5+ years specific experience managing Software Development or Custom Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software application implementation projects or Network, Platforms and Server projects
  • Understanding of business drivers with strong ability to communicate project benefits and ROI, as well as manage customer/stakeholder expectations
  • Understanding ofhighly complex information technology systems and methodologies
  • Ability to develop project budgets and effectively manage project costs, schedules and resources.
  • Adept at using MS Project
  • Experience using Clarity Portfolio Management software
    Project Leadership
  • Build partnerships through consensus, collaboration and teamwork
  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of a project through appropriate resource management
  • Ability to define problems and develop alternative solutions
  • Coordinate multiple projects and schedules
  • Effectively direct, persuade and motivate others in meeting project deliverables


    Education and Typical Years Experience
    Desired Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • A four year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a closely related field
  • Five plus years experience managing medium to large IT projects in one of the 2 areas:Application Development or Custom Off-The-Shelf software implementation projects; or Network, Platforms and Server projects.
  • Five plus years managing technical project staff and teams.

    Special Requirements
    Communication/Diplomacy
  • Make technical oral presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Present ideas and complex/technical material clearly, concisely, logically and persuasively both orally and in writing
  • Proven written communication skills to ensure project deliverables and documentation are clear and convey both substance and intent
  • Possess a high level of customer orientation and effective interpersonal skills with extensive interaction with vendors, department heads, technical and non-technical staff
