What is a typical day?
Monitor intra-day trade operations, learn the life of an stock order, and fulfill scripting tasks to aid needs of the service desk and TACC Ops. Provide support in various projects and objectives relative to team.

What will you do first?
Establish contacts with ECNs and handle basic calls regarding FIX account status.
Monitor on the trade desk with proprietary software
Learn the CTCI connectivity schedule
Identify potential problems and escalate ideas or suggestions on basic corrective actions.
Develop basic scripts for assigned projects using Bash Shell, Perl or Python or other language
Understand basics of the FIX protocol.
Establish working relationships with other Teams

What comes next?
Recognize problems/issues related to the technical aspects of trade operations; lead or coordinate implementation of corrective actions.
Deploy/Support CTCI interfaces, Test environments, Customer FIX certifications
Implement preventative procedures/maintenance relating to technical aspects of trade operations (including open and close, before and after market hours), e.g. resetting of disk space on certain machines and the state of CTCIs at the beginning and end of day.
Identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
Viewing and understanding the FIX protocol
Restart machines/software applications when they become problematic.
FIX testing procedures to establish new accounts with ECNs.
Develop new projects in an increasingly self-directed manner
