Description
Client is (large) healthcare payer organization and has developed a Member and Provider Self Service web application using Java running on IBM WebSphere 3.5, using IBM's EAD4J framework. An embedded Java integration hub (in-house) supports message transformation and routing. Web transactions perform slight variations of a number of basic transactions (e.g. eligibility, benefits, provider, and claims display, and preauthorization and referral adds and updates). Multiple transaction systems and databases supply data: one set for each region. The other regions are migrating to the system (TriZetto's Facets). Interaction with Facets is via XML messages via MQSeries. Other systems communicate via TCP/IP Sockets, or MQSeries to an IBM Mainframe, or Oracle database queries.

Contractor will be stepping into on-going project to replace an existing Project Manager. Position will last until the end of the year and there will be knowledge transfer from existing PM. Contractor will also be primary liason to key management personnel and other contractors assigned to the project. Position is 70% technical and 30% business-side responsibilities. Experience/Skills
Strong Project Management skills (required) in an actual project management role within Information Technology/Information Systems environment
Position is more technical and business-side so individual should possess very strong technical background
Previous experience working in an eCommerce (i.e. Web Portal) projects with high transaction/site activity experience (required)
Previous healthcare experience preferrably within a healthcare payer environment
Contractor may be physically located in Portland, OR or Seattle, WA
