Description
Kaiser Permanente, partnering with Genesis10 Consulting, is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a 6 month contract in Silver Springs, MD.

Overall Scope / Purpose of the Project:

The overall purpose of this project is to (1) provide technical infrastructure for application development projects, and (2) provide technical infrastructure for facilities projects involving new construction and remodeling..

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will manage the schedule, coordinate vendor activities, and coordinate client priorities around the provision of IT infrastructure in support of applications in development and facilities construction.

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership, direction, communication, and feedback for National Operations so that Kaiser IT's architecture and standards are met while providing management of the planning and deployment process so that activities are coordinated, requirements are communicated, and committed completion dates are met. The outcome will be the successful contribution of infrastructure solutions to application and construction projects.

This position will expose the selected applicant to a wide range of technology a fast paced environment a background of medical and insurance applications.

Current Phase of the project: Project is in definition phase.

Size of the team:

The number of members on this team will vary from approximately 2 to approximately 12, depending on the participation required in various phases of the project.

Top 5 daily responsibilities:

Management of the project schedule. This schedule of National Operations work will become part of the overall IT project schedule.
Communication with both client and service provider/vendor personnel. Service Providers/Vendors will understand expectations of their work and related schedule. Clients will understand project status and the nature of any dependencies or obstacles to completion of milestones.
Submission of Requests for Change (work orders). Required work will be clearly presented to service providers/vendors in a timely manner so that work can progress without untimely escalations or interruptions.
Tracking service provider/vendor progress. Project Manager will understand the status of the project in its entirety and will understand the relationships between work performed by service providers/vendors and development performed by application personnel. Participation in various meetings related to various groups represented in the project.
The requirements, dependencies, targeted completion dates, etc will be communicated to all participants in meetings designed to expedite progress and prevent the project from depending on linear or serial activities.

Top 3- 4 Required Skills:

Knowledge/familiarity with CDP process (Comprehensive Delivery Process).
Background in Wintel desktop design, development, and deployment.
Knowledge of IBM/AIX server environments and an understanding of the various skill sets, dependencies and adjunct technologies necessary for the construction of these environments.
