Great Lakes Educational Loan Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join our e-Commerce team.


The e-Commerce team develops Web-based applications for our student customers and school business partners. The team also designs the user experience for all Great Lakes internal and external facing applications.


Successful candidates will be responsible for leading/managing complex software development projects including establishing project goals, objectives, scope and cost. These individuals also will be responsible for budgeting, scheduling, planning, and status reporting.


Additional duties of the Project Manager include the supervision of project staff. An effective candidate must maintain project morale while balancing client needs, development workloads, and project objectives.



Qualifications



Required Skills:

  • Knowledge equivalent to the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Seven or more years of progressively responsible positions in the IT field.

  • Experience with several formal, established Project Management Methodologies.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver projects on time, on budget, and with the required functionality.

  • Demonstrated strong team building, consulting, and facilitation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate and communicate effectively at the executive level.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle supervisory/management responsibilities effectively.

  • Extensive experience with distributed systems.

  • Cross-platform knowledge, i.e. mainframe, client/server, and web.



    • Desired Skills:

  • Practical Project Management Office experience.

  • PMP certification or a Project Management certification from an accredited
    institution.

  • Masters of Business Administration degree.
