Description
Project Managers take full ownership of an assigned project area, developing project plans and directing successful execution by managing project scope, budget, cost, schedule, procurement, personnel, risk, communication, quality, and integration.

Specific requirements for this opportunity include:
COTS Implementations, Vendor Selection, and Technical Support Project Management preferably in a Unix environment. Our ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a matrix staff environment with the ability to manage direct reports, dotted line reports and vendor resources.

Required Skills:

. Manages one or more projects in assigned functional area by initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing projects according to company and professional project management standards.
. Manages project integration: establishes, manages, and updates project plans.
. Manages project scope: interacts with internal and external leaders and customers to define the project charter and scope. Ensures an appropriate and approved business case for all projects. Initiates project based on an approved project charter. Maintains project scope within the charter. Supports creation of project specifications, clarifies all project requirements, and ensures that acceptance criteria/project deliverables are clearly established.
. Manages project time: takes responsibility for maintaining the project schedule to ensure all milestones and requirements are met, and to otherwise implement the project according to established project management processes and procedures.
. Manages project budget and resources: establishes a project budget, monitors project costs, implements control measures, and reports financial results regularly to project stakeholders.
. Manages project quality: develops and applies consistent metrics to monitor project status, completion, cost, and on-time delivery for all project deliverables; analyzes metrics to improve overall team performance and determine areas of opportunity; establishes standard performance metrics and reporting tools for project stakeholders.
. Manages project human resources: identifies and directs members of the project team to achieve excellent execution, timely acceptance, and seamless conclusion/hand-off for each assigned project area; coordinates efforts among various resources within and outside the organization. Responsibilities can include both direct and matrixed management responsibilities.
. Manages project communication: supports and facilitates regular project planning review sessions with the project team and the customer; creates and maintains records, action items lists, change requests, and other project records; interacts cross-functionally with appropriate groups/departments to ensure synergistic activity relating to the project.
. Manages project risk: takes full ownership for problem resolution, ensuring that responsibilities for the completion of action items are clearly identified, prioritized, and accomplished in a timely manner; ensuring, when necessary, that escalation occurs in order to keep projects on target; anticipates and develops plans to mitigate risk.
. Manages project procurement: in cooperation with company purchasing professionals, manages vendor relationships to ensure project resource requirements are met.
. Manages project conclusion: summarizes customer feedback on all project deliverables and establishes improvement plans as needed; ensures acceptance of project deliverables; directs and ensures ongoing training and support as needed to sustain project outcomes.
. Constantly measures, updates, and reports the status of the project business case and ROI. Communicates project status via reports, executive dashboards, and presentations, and provides regular briefings on overall project status to all project stakeholders.
. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reading manuals and documentation, attending educatdf-tc
