One of Boston's Top Financial Firms seeks dynamic Project Manager with a minimum of ten years experience, with a mix of management consulting and Information Technology managmenent experience from one or more financial institutions. Strong project management skills, including enterprise wide or department level project plan development and management, project communications management and project resources management. Must have a successful track record of project executions.



JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating business analysis, application configuration and application change management activities to assure support of internal and external business rules and business user requirements. The qualified candidate will have substantial project management knowledge and experience with a concentration in business implementation, systems integration, software development and data conversion as well as a strong financial services background.



The project manager will work with internal & external business sponsors, product operations specialists, multiple IT teams and third party software vendors to assure timely implementation of business automation solutions.



MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Work with Central Operations Director, project sponsors, functional and technical specialists to define project scope and objectives - Create/maintain high level and detailed project plans including specific milestones, resources and durations - Project tracking: Ensure project progresses on schedule within budget; Review status of project tasks with project personnel; ensure tasks completed on schedule; adjust schedule as required - Provide periodic project status updates to Director and project sponsors - Direct efforts of Client Configuration and Application Change Management teams - Create and document application change management procedures - Establish communications plans - Identify risks and contingency plans - Establish standards and procedures for reporting and documentation



QUALIFICATIONS



3-6 years of project management experience and Business Analyst experience is a plus. -



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE



BS or BA, MBA preferred



Strong understanding of project management methodology and working knowledge of tools such as MS Project, MS Access, MS Excel and Visio - Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously - Experience directing efforts of shared resources - Experience implementing testing procedures and methodologies. - Experience with relational databases and data conversions - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: ability to facilitate meetings; to manage and motivate project resources at many geographic locations. - Appreciation of, and ability to adhere to, needs of diverse audiences. - Ability to multi-task, deadline oriented - Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal skills.
