POSITION SUMMARY
The ABC.com Project Manager will work with multi-functional team members to plan and deliver website, digital video, and mobile/wireless projects on time, to spec, and within budget. The PM has broad responsibility that includes helping to define product reqs, project management, individual project level and master calendaring, and intra-department communication.
This position requires substantial website technology background, excellent client and project management skills, and experience inleading multi-disciplinary projects and cross-functional teams. Successful candidates must be action-oriented, detail-obsessed, capable of working on concurrent complex projects and able to communicate clearly and effectively to technology, design, editorial, marketing, sales, and executive and business team members and constituents.
The PM will report to the Director, Creative Services of ABC.com.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, executes and successfully delivers on concurrent website, digital video, and mobile/wireless projects (all projects are within the department known as ?ABC.com'').
Provides scheduling and milestone directions to project team members.
Escalates unresolved technology, design, editorial, business, or personnel issues to the appropriate managers or, when needed, the Director.
Provides leadership in developing business requirements and scope statements and helps define project deliverables.
Develops project plans, resource plans and project estimates in collaboration with multiple departments and teams.
Ensures that milestones are achieved on-time and on-budget and in scope by dealing with or escalating issues with sufficient time for course correction.
Works closely with the Technical Project Manager for the Technology team to align resourcing and scheduling.
Develops and monitors risk and contingency plans.
Manages project change control process.
Tracks and monitors project issues resolution.
Leads certain team meetings and participates in project review meetings.
Ensures effective and proactive communications to project stakeholders.
Manages project changes.
Ensures quality of all project deliverables.
Determines and documents project successes and lessons learned.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Bachelor's degree with a technology focus.
5 years experience Technology project management.
5 years experience in managing highly scalable web and/or enterprise software projects
Self-starter that can drive complex projects with minimal guidance/oversight
PMI Project Management Professional preferred
Excellent communication and leadership skills


SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED

Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple teams, on multiple concurrent projects, working with business managers, technology managers, software engineers, designers, editorial, and ad sales and executives.
Experienced with project management and development processes and lifecycles in a technology organization.
Extremely organized and capable of tracking, managing, and resolving issues on multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize clear business requirements from customer inputs
Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize requirements and make informed project tradeoffs
Demonstrated ability to map business requirements to appropriate functional/technical requirements
Strong writing skills applied to project planning and specification documents
Understands estimating and measurement concepts and how to apply to a project.
Excellent ability to develop project schedules and set project milestones
Demonstrated ability to drive project execution in an organized and disciplined manner
Excellent technical skills, ability to challenge developers to defend technical designs
Excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution, and customer management skills
Strong familiarity with web technologies; previous development experience is a plus
Proficient in use of project management and documentation tools
