Zedi is recruiting aPROJECT MANAGER , for its Edmonton office. This is a great opportunity to join one of the fastest growing technology companies in North America as identified by Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500. A Calgary-based Project Manager of exceptional quality will be considered. The Technical Development team’s mandate consists of both take-to-market product development and also internal infrastructure support projects. Development projects can include software, hardware, and/or firmware development activity. We are seeking a Project Manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience ideally earned in managing complex hardware and software development projects in a high-technology company environment. The position reports to the VP, Technical Development, who is based in Edmonton. This full-time role will be responsible for: · Managing the complete technical project lifecycle ( initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling ) of complex and inter-related technology projects · Developing and maintaining project documentation, such as Project Charters, Post-project Reports, etc. · Managing multiple technology projects · Managing project scope, time, and resources/costs · Managing project communications, risks, issues, & changes · Communicating & presenting project status to stakeholders · Ensuring projects are executed in accordance to Zedi’s stage-gate project delivery process · Participating in the business requirements process as necessary · Mentoring more junior project managers/leads and project team members
Qualifications: · Minimum of 10 years experience managing increasingly complex hardware and software development projects · Knowledge of various project-delivery models (Waterfall, Agile) · Knowledge of IT infrastructure concepts and IT operations · Appreciation for hardware prototype development, Alpha and Beta-testing, Standards Certification and hand-off for manufacturing · Minimum of technical diploma in Engineering, IT, or Business, preferably B.Sc Degree in Engineering or Computing Sciences · Strong experience in formal project management methodologies (eg. PMI’s PMBOK) · Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project · Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution · Strong ability to influence and deal effectively with people at all levels of an organization · Excellent verbal and written English communication skills · Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines · Ability to work in a team environment · Ability to perform successfully with limited supervision · Strong problem solving and decision making abilities · Additional skills which would be desirable are experience with Microsoft Project Professional, Project Server and Portfolio Server, PMI Project Management Professional designation, as well as Keen interest in and general awareness of current technologiesdf-tc
