Project ManagerJob Location:- Santa Monica, CAJob Description:A very successful Internet company is looking for a Technical Project Manager for an 18 month contract. The company has 300 employees, has been in business for 40 yrs, has successfully transitioned their business model to the Internet over the last 10 yrs.Responsibilities:* The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for concurrently managing 3-5 large enterprise level projects. * The projects primarily consist of the design and development of n-tier Internet based distributed systems based on the J2EE framework that drive the company**s core business. * The Project Manager will be managing teams of 10-20 consisting of 10 Java Engineers, 4 QA Engineers, Business Analysts and 3-4 Product Managers. The PM will be responsible for the full SDLC of the project including gathering business requirements, documentation, writing project plans, managing resources, creating budgets, writing RFC**s (Request for Change) and FSC (Forward Schedule of Changes), monitoring progress and deadlines, status reporting and deliverables to senior management. * The Project Manager will be utilizing Agile/Scrum, MS Visio and MS Project to manage the projects.* The PM will report directly to the Director of Project Management.REQUIREMENTS* MUST HAVE 5 years of Technical Project Management experience* MUST Have 2 most recent years managing large (10 developers and 12 month duration) enterprise backend application development projects for online/web based systems (preferable based on J2EE)* It is a plus have experience with Agile/Scrum or other Iterative Development Methodology such as RUP, Extreme Programming (XP) or Waterfall. * Understanding and familiarity with the frameworks, methods, iterations and processes in order to be able to communicate on a technical level with development staff is a plus. * Ability to work with minimal supervision* Experience leading diverse technical and business staff (including OO Java developers) and non-technical staff (including Product and Program Managers)* Ability to work in fast paced environments* Experience with MS Project, Visio and Office* Should have BS and/or MBA* Demonstrated in depth knowledge of internet business practices and operations* MUST HAVE impeccable interpersonal and communication skills *Completely detail and focus on your responsibilities of managing projects through the full development life cycle including creation of project plans, gathering user requirements, analysis, development, testing, implementation and reporting.*Detail all project management responsibilities (i.e. budgets, timelines, scheduling, reporting, analysis, performance appraisals)*Any additional responsibilities beyond normal PM tasks (i.e. issue resolution, recommendations, etc.)*Types and number of staff (Java developers, business analysts, Q/A Engineers, Product Managers, end users, etc.) that you interacted with on a direct/indirect/cross functional/matrix basis. Also, any 3rd party software and/vendor contract negotiation and/or staff management. Any off-shore experience.*Description of Internet/Web-based projects (Development languages, platforms, databases, infrastructure, architecture) you were leading. Discuss the nature of the systems/applications, the objective of the systems and the technology utilized.*Your knowledge, familiarity, training, utilization and experience with any Project Management methodologies and/or related standards (i.e. Agile/Scrum, XP, Waterfall, RUP, PMBOK, PMI/PMP standards, CMM, etc.) and Management processes, procedures, policies, tools and reporting mechanisms (MS Visio/MS Project).df-tc
