Job Description:
The purpose of this job is to develop an effective project scope for individual projects. This position works in collaboration with the Project Management team, Project Management Office (PMO); IT Operations team; Applications Development, Security, IT Business Management, project sponsors,; and other IT stakeholders to ensure that the project scope entails the required details and deliverables. This job is also responsible for the planning and tracking of each project in IT Operations, problem identification and resolution, and change management issues throughout the projects. The scope of this position covers estimating project costs, developing schedules, vendor management and identifying project resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and expectations in order to develop appropriate project scope.
  • Develop individual project plan and work plans that entail all details of the project that include timelines, tasks and resources.
  • Communicate any change in project plans, status, timelines, issues to all necessary project stakeholders.
  • Assist in any problem resolution to ensure the project stays on track according to plan.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to provide appropriate coordination of all projects.
  • Coordinate with other Project Managers and Project teams to ensure cross-project coordination and effective use of shared resources.
  • Manage the IT Operations Project Roadmap and coordinate that oversight with PMO.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of Information Technology experience required.
  • Experience with IT operations and infrastructure preferred.
  • 10+ years of industry experience
  • 5-10 years of project management experience
  • Proven ability to work in a Matrix environment.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects.
  • Ability to solve problems and trouble shoot to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include advanced interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work autonomously with very limited supervision as well as collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to mediate conflict.
  • Experience in relocation moves specific to Data Centers is preferred which would include knowledge of infrastructure requirements and tasks pertaining to large moves.
  • Technical experience managing projects which utilized the following operational areas related to technology: networking, Servers help desk, desktop, database administration, data centers, storage, back-up, and performance management.
  • Ability to envision, create and implement both new business process creation and existing process modification required as a result of project deliverable impact on existing and new processes.
  • Knowledge of Project Management Institute processes desired.
  • Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Technical knowledge and ability to identify, interpret and manage complex technical project issues
  • Ability to work objectively among potential conflict
  • Ability to prioritize issues and help project team members work on appropriate priorities
