DESCRIPTION OF JOB
Role will be combination of Technical Lead and Project Coordinator.
This is for a COTS project, so there is no development team, however, there is a significant technical component to the deployment of the software.

- Leads and directs one or more project teams.
- Creates, reviews, evaluates project plans and objectives.
- Tracks and reports progress relative to time, budget, and demonstrated results.
- Negotiates with clients, colleagues and outside vendors.
- Communicates project status, milestones and issues to the project sponsors.
- Applies effective project management methodologies and control techniques.
- Keeps informed of company's business initiatives and advances in the IT field.
- Provides Project Management services. Examples typically include services in various combinations of the following: project initiation, efficiency review, life cycle management, resource management, risk management, change management, time and cost management analysis, major projects in applications, networks, operations, data warehousing, and software development; may require specialized skills in specific technologies.

The role will entail managing, tracking and execution of day-to-day project execution tasks. These relate primarily to the project's dependency on shared technical services organizations, e.g. database and
mid-tier services.
The individual would be working with global DBAs, mid-tier teams, and testing teams to assure that roles are understood and conducted according to our operating model. The candidate will also need to work with site deployment leads to assure that site based activities are on track, as well as
providing any guidance or coordination required.

The candidate should possess a working knowledge of technologies such as:
RDBMS and web technologies, as well as general principles of SDLC, etc.
The effective application of this knowledge will be limited to working with our shared services technical teams providing these functions.

Demonstrated project management background is a plus, as is experience in a pharmaceutical research environment.
The successful candidate should be particularly strong in the soft skills needed to work in a diverse, research oriented, multi-site environment.
