Description
SUMMARY
This position is a technical project manager position. Project manager is responsible for driving the delivery of customizations of Qpass Prosperity Series Software, beginning with requirements phase, through software development and testing, to the deployment into the Qpass Production environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Responsibilities
1. Ultimate responsibility for the project management of all aspects of a Client Services engagement. Principal internal contact and project driver, from contract to launch of system/solution.
2. Work with Delivery Manager and customers to arrive at a release plan for new integrations and change requests. Report and review status. Notify Delivery Manager of upcoming customer dependencies and impacts if milestones are missed.
3. Overall ownership of project schedule. Create and maintain project plan, maintain issues log, and manage escalations. Ensure cross-company milestones and scheduling commitments are met.
4. Provide regular status reports to Qpass and customer management of each project activities, accomplishments, project effort, issues and risk factors affecting launch.
5. Work with Qpass Delivery Managers, and internal Qpass teams (e.g. Solutions Delivery, Quality Services, Operations, etc.) to plan/acquire staffing, coordinate cross-team activities, resolve issues, and ensure effective communication of all project-related activities.
6. Determine risks likely to affect program, evaluate risks, assess potential impacts on program and communicate plans to mitigate. Develop workable, creative approaches for resolving identified issues.
7. Serve as internal customer champion driving toward successful implementation that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
8. Play a very active role in ensuring the developed solution meets documented customer requirements. Test pre-production releases with an eye toward customer acceptance.
9. Identify and troubleshoot technical issues. Work with Partner Support, Quality Services and Solutions Delivery to actively manage technical issues and resolve. Own the resolution process and provide analysis of issues.
10. Track status of defects. Allocate development effort to rectify defects with knowledge of trade-offs vs. new features. Manage communication of defect resolution status to customer.
11. Review customer-facing deliverables for quality and completeness.
12. In some cases, serve as the primary communication point to a customer for implementation-related activities. Spend time on-site at customer location, as necessary, to coordinate project activities and communicate scope, approach, schedule, etc.
13. In some cases, gather and document requirements using use cases.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Contribute to the overall success of the Client Services team in the improvement of Processes. Thinks outside the box; makes improvements without permission.
2. Assist Partner Support Team and Operations in resolving configuration and support technical issues.
3. Assist Partner Support Team and Operations team in the coordination of releases..
4. Perform other projects/assignments as assigned by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Skills and Qualifications
Required
1. Customer relationship management experience. Proven relationship building skills, intense customer focus, and expectation management. Experience training end users.
2. 5+ years systems integration consulting/project management, including system roll-out and data conversion.
3. 5+ years solid experience managing and implementing enterprise-class, mission critical Web-based systems.
4. Working knowledge of Rational Unified Process or other iterative development methodology required. Ideal candidate would have managed projects using such a methodology.
5. Expertise in Project Management process, methods and tools, including ability to manage multiple projects with demanding schedules, managing diverse workgroups, ability to meet strict deadlines, Statement of Work and workplan preparation, team leadership and personnel development.
6. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
7. Ability/initiative to define and evolve processes to ensure continuous improvement. Process-focused but not bureaucratic.
8. Excellent influence, relationship and expectation management skills. Ability to manage resources across different internal and cross-company groups to get things done.
9. Thick-skinned. Able to work with extremely demanding customers.
