Project Manager / Sr. Database Administrator/ArchitectBasic FunctionLead the RDBMS efforts in the areas of Oracle, Sybase & MS SQL. Database Design, Planning, Development, Testing, Implementation and Support of Very Large databases (VLDB). Programming in Perl, UNIX Shell, SQL, and PL/SQL. Develop, Implement and Maintain Oracle Applications. Troubleshooting and Tuning Databases for Optimal Performance. Verify Data Integrity and Security. Lead a Team of DBAs and Projects in RDBMS (Oracle, Sybase and MS SQL). Independent Project Management of RDBMS/Applications projects.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.Work in 7x24x365 Coverage Production/QA/Development environment on Oracle 8i/9i/10g, Sybase 12.5, MS SQL Server 7.x/2K RDBMS. 2.Sets Database standards and Guidelines to manage and maintain all RDBMS relational databases this includes Oracle, Sybase and MS SQL Servers3.Designing and planning of Databases for High Availability, Local Failover and Disaster Recovery.4.New Business/Project RDBMS Requirements Analysis Setting up DEV/TEST/QA/UAT/PROD env. 5.Supporting Infrastructure Teams, Developers, QA group, & end users in Troubleshooting, Bug Fixing, Testing, and Production Support.6.Define, Develop and Implement Database backup/recovery Strategy for Oracle, Sybase & SQL Server using HP Data Protector 5.1 Integration methodology and RMAN and implement periodic recovery testing checkpoints to meet business requirements.7.Project Management (planning, Design, Implementation resource management) from inception to production support. Manage client/user expectations, resource management.8.Programming in SQL, PL/SQL, Pro*C to Pre-process the Data , writing Shell Scripts and SQL*Load for efficient Data Loading. 9.Proactive Monitoring, Notifying and Tuning of Databases and Applications for optimal performance10.Oversees and performs database installation and configuring of database parameters including configuring transaction logging, shared memory etc. sets up Security Procedures access privileges to database. Conducts software audits of database products for compliance with established standards, policies, configuration guidelines, and procedures.11.Develop and maintain a comprehensive RDBMS software database/library of all supporting documentation.

Requirements:

Requirement:a.Previous 10-15 years of experience supporting 7x24 Production Support/Development and QA env. on multiple hardware platforms, hp-ux preferred. Previous experience in Open distributed Client Server environment is essential.b.10 years of Oracle DBA Architect/Project Lead experience. Experience in Sybase and MS SQL is plus (willing to learn and support)c.Strong Knowledge of UNIX Architecture and Programming using C, Korn, Perl, SQL, PL/SQL Programming.d.Experience in Data Modeling using ERWIN, using Case Tools, QA Tools , Monitoring Tools such as BMC Patrol, OEM, HP Openview Spy etc.e.Knowledge of one of the Oracle or PeopleSoft Applications in Finance, HR, Payroll etc.f.Strong Knowledge of Data Replication Software Solutions such as Data Guard, SQL Replicator, Snapshots, Shareplex , Hardware g.Required SAN Storage Knowledge such as EMC-SRDF/BCV and/or EVA-CA etc.h.Experience using Database Management & Performance Tools such as OEM 9i/10g, DBArtisan, Toad, Platinum etc.i.Degree in Computer Science or Electronics and equivalent work experience is required.j.Ability to perform multiple tasks, and adjust priorities based on workload and direction from management.k.Possess excellent analytical skills, Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communications skill. Demonstrate outstanding decision making skills.l.Infrastructure Knowledge of EMC &/or HP SAN environment, Veritas Volume Manager, HP-UX, WIN 2000/2003, Solaris, MS Clustering, will be plus.m.Experience in Financial Industry will be plus. n.Knowledge of Disaster Recovery process, procedure and policy is preferred.Compensation:KEY RELATIONSHIPSSupervised by:Head of Engineering
