Description
Kindly send your updated resume to recruit@viva-it.com 1) Add 'Vendor' to freeform, bypass sourcing cockpit - A possibility, requires much more research. Any fields we add that differ from the SAP provided fields are "customer fields". Meaning we can add a field to the web template, but there is no code linkage behind it to say what happens when a value is entered. Need to find a way to link any new fields back into the SAP standard process. A BADI is available that looks promising to add customer fields, but it needs to be tested to determine if this works as we expect and if it will apply to all screens. If it does not, we would have to modify SAP standard code, which is a bad option. As far as bypassing the sourcing cockpit, need to do research to determine if 'Preferred Vendor' and 'Vendor' are stored internally as two different fields. If so, we can probably use the BADI triggered on save to move the preferred vendor value into the fixed value field. Expected outcome would be to work as it does if it was a catalog item (vendor not editable), and shouldn't route to the cockpit. 2.) Require choice of a freight option before submitting shopping cart - If we can add customer fields as described above, this should be ok too. More research - need to find tables in backend where catalog items are stored. Proposed solution involves creating a catalog (or catalog category) that has all negotiated pricing. Based on user's choice, would pull that item from catalog and through an update function module add the item to the shopping cart. This gives us all of the item linkages (category, quantity, price, vendor, etc) that we need to add items to a shopping cart.
