Description
Job Title: Quality Analyst II
Job Description: The Quality Assurance Test Analyst is responsible for functional system/integrated testing of software delivered from Applications Development and/or external vendors. This individual will create Test Cases, Test Scenarios and Scripts for all functional requirements. Must be proficient in test methodology and process improvement able to plan and execute Test Scripts thereby delivering quality software releases to our Business Partner in support of meeting organizational goals and objectives.
Assists the QA Lead with all system testing efforts, such as writing test plans, strategies and test evaluations. Works closely with Developers to define, research, correct and retest defects, and resolve test variances from the Test Plan. This individual must be experienced in the full software development life cycle (SDLC) and able to react to the aggressive schedules required for our Business Partners. The ability to communicate with all interfacing departments in a professional and efficient manner is critical for the success of meeting expectations of a quality software delivery.
Job Duties:

Work with the Business Analyst to interpret the test needs as requirements are being developed.

Work with Business Partner to ensure the standard of testing supports the business needs

Create a comprehensive Test Plan that supports the business and technological solutions being delivered.

Contributes and adheres to the Requirements Tractability Matrix to ensure a quality delivery.

Performs duties delegated by the QA Lead on behalf of the department.

Works with the application programmers to resolve defects identified during the system test.

Creates Test Cases, Test Scenarios and Scripts in support of business functional requirements and in a reusable state.

Executes each script to identify defects prior to the delivery of software in a production environment.

Ability to interpret a complex variety of technical instructions, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Assist in the capturing and documentation of metrics in support of software testing.

Assign severity levels to each test issue discovered during the test cycle.

Support for User Acceptance Testing

Tests data to ensure it complies with specifications and present sound recommendations through thorough analysis.

Performs System Integration, Regression and Security Testing

Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to present the proven solution to all levels of associates.

Assists Application Development with stress and performance testing

Participates in the formulation of project time estimates

Knowledge of project planning and project management techniques sufficient to mange small projects and/or group activities
Experience:

Minimum of 5 years software testing experience in Mainframe, Unix, Client Server, Web environments (mid range)

Good query skills and various OS utility tool experience such as TSO, Xpediter, FileAid, Intertest

Strong experience with manual testing, testing tools, and writing test cases

Experience in full software development life cycle methodology

Proven organizational and analytical skills.

Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently

Microsoft Office, MS Project

Must be proficient with Word to create and review policies, procedures, forms, and complex documents which may contain graphics, form fields, sub-headings and indexes.

Knowledge of email systems such a Microsoft Outlook sufficient to communicate with both internal and external contacts.

Knowledge of Excel sufficient to create spreadsheets containing functions, if statements, look-up tables and macros.

Knowledge of PowerPoint sufficient to produce presentations containing non-standard graphics, charts, sound and other enhancements.

Knowledge of Visio sufficient to create process flow diagrams
