Description
Position Summary:In this position you will help lead the activities of Quality Assurance (QA) on the project team. You will be expected to answer team member questions and demonstrate effective accomplishment of the tasks routinely accomplished by the team as they analyze business requirements, design and execute tests, record and report results and generate defect records. You will also be responsible for gathering and reporting metrics in support of process control facilitated by the IT director. You will work closely with the members of the project team, and will be accountable to the IT director for effective completion of job duties.Responsibilities and Essential Duties:• Demonstrate effective and efficient work practices, providing leadership by example• Identify training needs and help members by developing or select training opportunities consistent with client's goals• Participate in the definition and implementation of effective processes and procedures• Take part in discussions identifying opportunities for improvement and defining practical changes• Write procedures and guidelines for QA Team activities• Design an conduct test, demonstration, analysis and inspection as appropriate to certify product readiness for quality gates• Assure and document effective coverage of requirements by verification techniques• Develop reference documentation of systems operations required to perform verification• Evaluate current production/QA documentation and make necessary recommendations and revisions to improve efficiency and effectiveness• Lead and perform root cause analysis of issues as needed, to determine necessary corrective actionCritical Competencies:• 3 – 5 years software testing experience, including:• design of software verification• manual and automated verification of software products• scheduling and facilitating technical discussions• writing technical procedures• using defect tracking and configuration management tools• Software development experience preferredAdditional Qualifications and Requirements:• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related discipline. Equivalent work related experience is also acceptable.• Strong QA methodology, process, and technical leadership• Experienced at advanced level with Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, Visio, Project, Outlook and Access• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Reliable, disciplined, organized• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal• Team work orientation a must
