We have an immediate need for a QA Automation engineer (Java).

JOB DESCRIPTION:
CDI has an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate. We are currently seeking a QA Automation engineer ( Java) to perform a year plus contract position for our HOT client in Austin. This role has a very STRONG chance of going contract to hire. Please submit your resume with salary expectations as soon as possible. PLEASE NOTE: We are happy to consider out of state candidates however CDI is unable to assist with relo at this time. This role may also be a good fit for Java developers who have completed full cycle development and are okay with performing 100% QA. Please have QA experience properly documented in resume.

Below is a brief summary of skill set needed as well as responsibilities:

Work in Scrum mode and work with product owner to analyze product requirements and create test plans and test cases
Execute testing tasks and report status, escalating issues as appropriate.
Automate end to end test suites for new and existing product features (using fitnesse framework)
Recommend and implement enhancements to our automated testing framework
Coordinate and lead efforts for cross functional testing and/or 3rd party integration tasks on a project basis.
Proactively solve problems, suggest process improvements.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate with remote teams through email and phone.
Solid Knowledge of QA testing techniques to determine appropriate number of test iterations and applying risk-based testing concepts.
Interface with development engineers on daily basis to identify and resolve bugs quickly

Job Requirements:
5+ years in Software QA experience with a good understanding of QA methodology
Ability to design test plans and execute test procedures for complex applications
Experience with API testing REQUIRED and products in Service oriented architecture
Experience with programming in Java required
Knowledge of SQL and UNIX
Strong familiarity with web technologies, financial applications, and business complexities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environment
Black and white box testing (Web service API test using Junit)
Work with engineering team and product management to understand new features.
Write test cases in JAVA using Junit to test webservice API.
