Description
The QA Automation Specialist is responsible for supporting critical business strategies by certifying Sales Force Automation tools delivered on the Web or on PDAs. These tools are designed to simplify business management for over 100,000 sales force members in US, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam, Spain, and UK. PDA applications are primarily used to gather client data and signatures to submit business. Web applications are primarily used to manage client data and submitted business.
The primary responsibility of the position is to design and develop automated test scripts for all software applications. You will work closely with the QA Manager to develop and implement the automation test strategy. Additionally, you will help train the QA analysts on test automation.

Specifications/Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in computer science/technology/engineering, information technology, or equivalent discipline
  • 5 years experience in quality assurance testing with 2 years experience in automated testing
Proven experience is required in the following areas:
  • Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of Quality Assurance methodologies and standards
  • Define automated testing strategies and automation framework
  • Ability to develop solid and maintainable automated test scripts that thoroughly test application behavior and effectively identify defects and errors in business logic including performance and load testing of Web applications
  • Ability to produce issue/defect tracking from automated scripts
  • Advanced understanding of test techniques and tools
  • Working knowledge of QMF or SQL and database structures
  • Strong knowledge of PC applications and familiarity with Windows 2000 & XP
  • Demonstrated analytical and technical skills
  • Knowledge of application design and software development methodologies.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency/effectiveness of test processes
  • Define UAT (User Acceptance Test) criteria.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, Visio, and Powerpoint.
In addition, the experience in the following areas is a plus:
  • Knowledge of Compuware Testing Tools
  • Knowledge of company systems, databases, and business operations.
  • Knowledge of financial services
  • Ability to provide regular and frequent status updates and project information to management.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proactive communication within the organization and across diverse project teams.
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical issues to testers, developers and managers.
  • Quick grasp of technical information and requirements.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize the input and opinions of multiple groups of departments, users, peers, and management while keeping in mind the business requirements of a project.
  • Sound business related skills such as problem solving, team building, judgment and decisions making.
  • Self-starter with a track record of delivering quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
