Senior Software Quality Engineer

Adecco Engineering and Technical is searching for QA Engineer for leading Medical Device Company in Sorrento Valley. This position will be a 4month contract.

Function:
Individual contributor responsible for independent verification of software products that have been developed according to pre-approved software design requirements and specifications.

Responsibilities:
Independently develops, maintains and executes test cases.
Discovers, documents and tracks software defects in a bug database.
Plans and implements the setup of test environments to perform functional testing of integrated software and hardware in a lab setting.
Facilitates the core project team to ensure all facets of software product testing is accomplished within project timelines.

Skills:
Knowledge of software quality engineering and testing methods at all levels (unit, integration, system, V&V, acceptance) applied within the software development lifecycle.
Ability to apply and use software quality tools for test case management, test automation, and defect tracking management.
Ability to understand end user and product usage scenarios for use in the design and conduct of software testing.
Ability to understand and apply software development methods, standards, and regulations (ie FDA CFR).
Applies in-depth working understanding of standards and methods to comply/enforce the standards in day to day tasking
Ability to develop and conduct various forms of user-focused, system-level verification and validation (V&V) testing.
If appropriate to the individual assignment, ability to apply understanding of software development methods and programming to develop test harnesses and perform component-level or Embedded testing.

Requirements:
4-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
Three to five years formal software test experience
Certified Software Quality Engineering - ASQ certification is a plus.
Must be detail oriented and have a knack for critical thinking.
Needs to be comfortable performing a variety of different tasks, often in parallel.
Must be able to pick up new technology quickly and be adaptable to working in a variety of technical environments.
Must display self-reliance and initiative in projects lacking documentation or guidelines.
Must be able to work independently with minimum or no supervision.
