Project Summary and Position Overview:
A tool (Excel addin) is needed to assist internal support groups in template conversions for Thomson add-ins and competitors products. The excel addin will be used by internal Thomson Support teams and should require a minimal amount of manual interaction.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be involved in creating and executing complex test plans and working interactively with Product Development and Product Management to improve the quality of the products. The ideal candidate must have a solid grasp of the product life cycle - from initial software requirements through development, testing, and deployment.

The ideal candidate will be able to effectively participate in cross-functional meetings, clearly articulate project risk and provide concise recommendations to Development and Product Management.

The QA Engineer will also be expected to bring a breadth of QA experience and best practices to the company.

Essential day to day responsibilities:
Reviewing and providing feedback on product specifications
Creating test plans
Writing and executing test cases and test templates
Software Technical knowledge and Troubleshooting skills are imperative
Reporting on progress and risk to management
Actively participating as a member of the cross-functional project team
Must have full understanding of Quality Assurance processes and product life cycle
Must be able to apply quality assurance principles based on the needs of the project and business.

Education:
Bachelors Degree

Required Skills:
Understanding of Windows services, Web applications, Web services (IIS 5.0 - IIS 6.0)
Experience with .NET applications
Experience testing Client Server and multi tier applications
Experience with XML/XSL
Experience with VBA or Quick Test Pro for some automation with this project is strongly preferred but not necessarily required but candidate must be strong.
SQL a strong plus
Requires BSCS or other Bachelors with relevant professional experience.
3 years of QA experience.
Excellent analytical abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
