QA Software Analyst

Job Description:
A Quality Assurance Software Analyst uses basic software skills to develop automation tests, database scripts, and batch files for the purpose of testing software products and solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Develops, publishes, and implements test plans based on existing specification documentation and discussions.
• Writes detailed, accurate bug/issue reports.
• Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
• Writes and maintains test automation scripts.
• Performs stress testing and product benchmarking.
• Reviews and analyzes log files and SQL traces to identify program errors.
• Provides technical expertise and analysis to identify and document system level tests that must be performed to sufficiently cover various product setups.
• Ensures QA procedures are properly documented and kept up-to-date.
• Leads and directs other QA Software Analysts
• Provides coaching and assistance to QA Specialists.
• Mentors and assists other QA Software Analysts.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Requirements:
Five or more years experience with a Scripting language or other programming language.
Proven expertise in implementing software quality assurance best practices and methodologies, and a thorough understanding of the software development life cycle.
Highly skilled in effectively using QA tools including bug/defect tracking systems.
Thorough knowledge of the Windows family of operating systems, Virtual Machines, and MS SQL Server.
Familiarity with a version control system (Subversion a plus).
