QA Software Designer/Tester

For this position, you will bring your experience as a Software Design Engineer in Test to this Seattle based non-profit medical research organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Defining QA test standards and metrics
  
• Developing test plans and test cases for all application tiers
  
• Automating and executing test cases
  
• Regressing defects
  
• Reporting on and tracking defects
  
• Improving existing processes
  
• Performing verification of applications and databases
  
• Performing performance and efficiency testing (using optimizer tools)
  
• Documenting the database and how each application leverages it
  
• Generating test tools to improve the efficiency of all database-related testing

• 5+ years related work experience
  
• Proficiency on multiple platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux)
  
• Experience writing detailed test plans (from requirement and design specifications)
  
• Experience designing and executing test cases
  
• Experience with RDBMS and related SQL tools and technologies
  
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Visio
  
• Knowledge of web servers and data driven web applications
  
• Knowledge of Java, PERL, HTML, JSP, JavaScript, and Crystal Reports
  
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals
  
• Understanding of ODBMS
  
• Solid problem solving skills
  
• Bachelors degree in a related field
