QA Test Engineer, Sr.Location: San Jose, CAJob Description & Responsibilities: The Senior QA Tester is a part of the 2Wire Media Team and will assist in assuring the creation of quality 2Wire Media products. You will support the Media QA processes by analyzing product requirements and features, researching and implementing test processes and procedures, interfacing with external vendors, 2Wire engineering and software development and assisting senior test engineers. Additional activities will include test plan writing and executing, identifying anomalies and communicating issues to engineering, automation programming, test harness creation and maintenance, mentoring and training others, reporting bugs and providing guidance to QA testers. This position may perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skills: *
  • Knowledgeable in quality assurance techniques and system test processes *
  • Previous experience in Black / White box and / or unit testing *
  • Strong technical expertise with networking, video, TV, or digital media products required *
  • Skill using Perl, TCL, Python, shell, or other scripting language *
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated with attention to detail and ability to operate in a changing environment with shifting priorities. *
  • Must have attention to detail and good troubleshooting skills *
  • Good verbal and written communication skills *
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel *
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, results oriented and a team player *
  • Ability to keep accurate records of performed tests and procedures *
  • Familiarity of the UNIX testing environment, Satellite TV Technology, MPEG2 & MPEG4 standards and DVR Technology is a plus *
  • Familiarity with Media, Satellite and Ethernet test equipment *
  • Ability to set up and maintain lab facilities *
  • Leadership skills and mentoring abilitiesEducation and Work Experience: *
  • BS (MS preferred) degree in EE, CE, or CS or equivalent. *
  • 5 in networking / telecommunications / media development testing and unit testing and debugging.experience.df-tc
