Position Description - Sr. QA Engineer
About Investor Reporting 2 (IR2):
Investor Reporting 2 is a medium-scale, high-performance transaction mortgage and loan processing system to support the governments loan modification program, one of the major workstreams of Homeowners Affordability and Stability Plan (HASP).
The application is being developed using proven technologies, including PL/SQL, Oracle, Ab-Initio and Java in complex combinations following established and proven methodologies and practices for the development.
About the Team:

The Performance and System Test team has 4 broad functions:
1. System Test: Responsible for planning, designing and execution and validation of results for System Test.
2. Performance Test: Responsible for planning, designing and execution and validation of results for Performance Test.
3. Production Support: Responsible for supporting the application in production, ensuring operational processes and procedures are followed.
4. Infrastructure: Responsible for identifying and managing the infrastructure needs of the project.
About the position:
Based on the project needs, the engineer will be required to identification and construction of test scenarios, generation of inbound files and generation of expected results. QA Test Engineer contributes to building tools for automating execution of the functional components and verification of expected results. The comparison of expected results will be using PL/SQL. The organization of test cases and its associated automation will be through Quality Center/QTP.

Responsibilities:

• Understand business requirements and develop test cases
• Build, customize and configure tools for automating execution and verification of results for various test efforts.
• Execute and test the functional scenarios for a test effort.
• Work with development, Business, QA, and Automation engineers to determine root cause of batch job execution problems.
• Provide design documentation; participate in technical review for the test automation projects.
• Must have excellent problem solving skills and be capable of breaking down complex situations to discover and resolve root causes, this applies to both technical issues and process issues.
• Provide metrics and project planning updates for the testing effort.

Qualifications:
Must-Have Skills:

• Experience of at least 8 years in testing including test case creation, automation, execution and validation of results.
• At least 5 years of hands on experience in Quality Center
• 5 years of PL/SQL and Oracle experience.
• 5 years of Unix Scripting
• Exposure to PL/SQL batch processing and Oracle Collections.
• Familiarity with mortgage business
• Excellent verbal communications and teaming skills.
• Due to nature of the effort flexibility to move between different sub teams is a must

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience of technically leading teams of 4-6 people is a big plus
• Familiarity with VBScript
• Autosys and Ab Initio experience is a big plus
• Familiarity with Doors

Qualification Rating
