Quality Assurance Specialist 3

This position is assigned to project teams and will be responsible for automating system and regression testing by writing scripts in our testing tool and working with the Testing and Product Assurance Analyst to assist with standards and methodologies for QA testing.

Individuals in this position are competent to perform work at the highest technical level within this job family. They are familiar with project management techniques, best practices to ensure quality software, source and version control.. This person will work closely with the application developers to regularly coach other team members on best practices for testing and stabilizing the development and test environments. They share responsibility with other team members to ensure on-time product delivery, which requires a clear understanding of expectations and capabilities and the ability to act effectively as a team member.

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute test plans in a timely and efficient manner for all areas of the product.
Write and execute easy-to-understand test case steps and expected result descriptions. Identify and track bugs and report on resolution results.

Develop code and test scripts for purpose of automating testing of system development code.

Implement performance test using a unit-testing framework.

Document and track all bugs and resolution activities. Retest code to ensure bug fixes work.

Test, debug, and document programs as requested.

Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and ITS colleagues to meet expected customer service levels.

Experience/Skills
BS Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
Related work experience - 2 Years
Windows Server 2003, Windows Sharepoint Services - 2 Years
WinRunner, LoadRunner, TestComplete - 3 Years
Active Directory, SQL Server - 2 Years
Fluent and up-to-date in test scripting languages - 3 Years
Excellent analytical skills and understand test cycle - 2 Years
Knowledge of project management
Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability work well with others
