GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Quality Associate tests product batches and will make adjustments, as necessary, to ensure compliance with standards.

This position is located in Glendale, AZ. Applicants must be able to work 3rd shift (11pm - 7:30am) Su-Th. Minimum entry pay rate is $13.11/hr. (entry pay rate will be commensurate with experience) with regular increases based on performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Tests production batches; incoming raw materials as needed
* Acts as technical resource to production addressing issues
* Makes recommendations to production on batches
* Completes/maintains all required paperwork
* Ensures gauges/test equipment are verified
* Follows/complies with all safety/work rules/regulations
* Completes/sends documentation to customers (i.e. COA)
* Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* High school diploma or GED required along with 1 year related lab/quality experience or 1 year PolyOne production experience
* Requires matching proficiency, including ability to color match
* Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read/comprehend safety rules, manuals and other required materials
* Must be able to write legibly
* Must have strong mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide and ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance
* Must be able to effectively communicate
* Must have ability to reason and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
* Must have manual dexterity sufficient to use a wide variety of standard lab equipment including a scale, ovens, viscometers and the ability to operate standard office equipment such as a computer, a calculator, telephone, fax, and photocopier

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and/or hear

* Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally handle up to 50 pounds
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
* Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.
* Work is inside and the typical noise level fluctuates from moderate to loud
* Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
