Quality Assurance Practitioner

Job Description

Plans, implements and coordinates activities regarding the development, application and maintenance of quality standards. Maintain measurement metrics and statistics, monitor development projects for adherence to the quality standards, lead in Post Implementation Reviews (including lessons learned), and recommend improvements to the software development process.

Primary responsibilities:

1. Establish and maintain quality standards for IT organization
2. Lead project quality assessments to determine if expected Quality related activities are planned; assemble and report findings
3. Conduct Post Implementation Reviews, gather lessons learned
4. Coach/Mentor project teams on the Quality related processes, standards, and policies; including the walkthrough / approval process
5. Evaluate process adherence based on identified process measures and metrics
6. Assist IT process development by providing input on measures, metrics, and quality standards
7. Introduce Quality related Process, Standards, and Policies to the organization
8. Maintain the Quality Repository
9. Recommend improvements to the development process

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 5 years of experience with the disciplines included in a Software Development Life Cycle, or 9 years of experience with the disciplines included in a Software Development Life Cycle in lieu of a degree.
  • Advanced technical and business writing skills and experience implementing processes and process improvements.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Quality Assurance from a recognized organization
  • Experience conducting/participating in post-project implementation reviews and/or post-process implementation reviews
  • Experience training/coaching for process improvements
