Description
Mortgage Company located in Fort Worth, TX has an immediate contract opportunity for a Quality Assurance Specialist.

Responsibilities:
Support analysis of current Information Systems Quality Assurance Policies/Procedures
Provide information to support the development of appropriate quality standards within the organization
Assist in establishment of requirements for Quality Assurance support
Assist in establishment of a formal process for Test Plan and Procedure development
Ensure Quality Assurance Policies/Procedures are followed within the Information Systems organization
Support full cycle development of new software applications
Provide expertise for initial specification development
Review initial user requirements and ensure implementation
Ensure proper documentation practices are maintained throughout development
Provide necessary test support to ensure proper functionality
Support code walkthrough, when necessary, to ensure functionality of software design
Support User Acceptance Testing
Support maintenance of current software applications
Review user requirements and ensure implementation
Ensure proper documentation practices are maintained throughout development
Provide necessary test support to ensure proper functionality
Support code walkthrough, when necessary, to ensure functionality of software design
Support User Acceptance Testing
Test applications to ensure proper functionality
Work with Software Development Teams to establish Test Plans
Ensure defects are properly documented and resolved in a timely manner
Communicate with end users to ensure proper implementation of user requirements
Ensure project deliverables and the development approach comply with policies and procedures
Support joint application development (JAD) sessions
Review quality of requirements definition (clarity and fit)
Support validation of design against requirements specifications
User satisfaction and participation
Solicit feedback
Support resolution of System Problems
Provide support of failure analysis
Document findings and provide any necessary quality reports

Provide Continuous Process Improvement
Ensure documentation requirements have been met and maintained
Perform post-release analysis to determine lessons learned during the quality assurance process
Provide insight for the development of future standards

Administration
Prepare weekly status reports
Advise management on issues relating to the progress of application development
Work with management to assist in procuring and implementing new hardware and software relating to Quality Assurance and Testing

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Undergraduate degree in computer science, project management, system engineering, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree is desirable.

Work Experience:
At least 3 years experience in a technology environment
Understanding of software development; test planning and procedure development; software application testing
Demonstrated ability to analyze business system requirements and support development of business systems solutions.

Rational Suite
Knowledge of and proficiency in at least two of the following areas:
Requirements Analysis
Test Plan Development
Test Procedure Development
Software Test Performance
Automated Software Testing
Continuous Process Improvement
Knowledge and proficiency in quality-related areas such as, Auditing, Configuration Management, Metrics and Six Sigma
Understanding of development for Middleware distributed object technology, such as CORBA or DCOM
Knowledge of object-oriented design techniques and programming methodologies
In-depth understanding and appreciation of good application development practices

Other Skills:
General understanding of Mortgage Banking and the systematic processes surrounding the business flow.
Excellent problem solving skills
Solid oral and written communication skills
