JOB DESCRIPTION.



CDI Government Services needs an Electrical /Electronics / Hardware Quality Inspector for a contract position in Columbia, MD.

If you are experienced with ANSI 610 or 620 Certifications we need to speak to you right away!



This is a hardware / electronics inspector job, so both electrical/electronic and mechanical skills (knowledge of machining, welding, dimensional inspection, etc.) are desired.





Job Description:



Responsibilities will be to inspect the following items for Quality Assurance:

- Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) items

- Soldered assemblies to IPC J-STD-001D Class 2

- Electronics assemblies to IPC-A-610D, IPC-A-620

- Machined & welded manufactured items

- Witness test/inspect sub-systems to MIL-STDS and client drawings/specifications throughout a multi-year U. S. Army missile defense system contract as well as other current programs.




Other routine duties of this position are those of an Electronics Technician and Inspector.



- Tasks carried out involve design quality review, quality planning, quality audits and quality assurance/control (including production oversight, and test) for specialized LTA vehicle and ground processing station electronic parts.

- Work is conducted in a team environment with Design Engineering, Production Planning, Production Engineering and Manufacturing and with government, military and commercial customer representatives.

- Candidates must be willing to travel occasionally to various production facilities and field sites (worldwide) and must show excellent interpersonal skills.





REQUIREMENTS:



EDUCATION:
* Must possess at least a high school diploma (or GED)

* Plus if you have an Associates Degree in a relevant technical area or certified/accredited Vocational Training related to Electronics Manufacturing and Assembly.



EXPERIENCE:

* Possess both Electrical/Electronic and Mechanical Skills (knowledge of machining, welding, dimensional inspection, etc.).

* Candidates need a background of hands-on experience in manufacturing industries doing electrical or electronics work (Plus if you have experience in aviation industry electronics manufacturing or inspection experience.

* Military experience in aircraft or weapons system electronics maintenance is also relevant ??? former non-commissioned officers with specialties related to avionics/electronics in any branch of the U.S. Military would be considered qualified.

* At least 6 years total work experience must be after high school graduation with some time in a related field of employment ??? highly qualified candidates will have current industry 3rd party (IPC) soldering or electronic assembly credentials.

* Proficient at data entry and use of computer software for record keeping and reporting and for operation of computer controlled hardware units.

* Candidates must also be detail oriented and possess organizational skills.
