REGULATORY AFFAIRS SPECIALIST

Summary

Position aids and supports the Regulatory Compliance Manager in labeling and labeling compliance. Develop, maintain, review and approve regulatory compliant label documentation and artwork approval that is in compliance with local legislation labeling regulations and guidelines. Provide label compliance advice to internal customers as well as provide creative ideas on how to maintain compliance while seeking to provide competitive labeling ideas to meet marketing needs. Assist and provide support for the DGIC kosher management system. Maintain accurate regulatory compliance labeling information for DGIC internal documentation as well as accurate documentation on past, current, and future artwork label information. Provide regulatory compliance and affairs information to internal customers and consumers via customer service department.

Accountabilities

- Works independently or with teams to maintain regulatory accuracy
- Apply basic technical skills to manage, update and present precise data
- Assesses and makes recommendations on routine problems
- Creates exact documents for several documentation programs such as K2 and DBAC
- Interacts on a day-to-day basis with the Regulatory Compliance Manager
- Communicates and follows-up with marketing managers, kosher officials and product scientists
- Inquisitive and open to new procedures, regulatory laws, and documentation processes
- Nutritional Advice to Consumer Response, Marketing, Sales, Product Development
- Back-up for the Regulatory Compliance Manager

Qualifications

- Thorough knowledge of USA food labeling regulations and quality assurance procedures and systems
- Proficient in relevant computer programs, especially MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access
- Strong communicating skills, both written (especially in technical writing) and spoken
- Preferably fluent in Spanish and written Spanish
- General understanding of business processes
- Detail oriented

Desirable Education/Experience

- 4 year Bachelors degree preferably a BS
- 1 to 2 years of industry related experience
