RIA Developer
As the Rich Internet Application (RIA) Developer, you'll gain the opportunity to team up with talented individuals to concept groundbreaking creative experiences and develop them through the cutting-edge technology of Adobe AIR, Flash, SilverLight, C#. You will be working with a team of .Net developers and user experience engineers to provide GUI/Flex design expertise that directs the UI for new and existing applications.
2. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The RIA Developer will actively participate in the planning, design, and development of online applications for the Society. He or she will follow online development methodologies and processes as well as coding standards for web applications focused on customer experience and user navigations. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality Flash and Flex applications as well as building and documenting a library of re-usable Actionscript/Flash assets.Specific responsibilities include: Work closely with Creative Designer, User Experience Manager, Web Development Lead, Web Portal Developer, and other project stakeholders across the organization provide innovative web solutions. Design and develop dynamic web pages and web sites. Architect and build a library of re-usable Flash assets that can be repurposed for multiple customers. Oversee Flash development of contract resources by setting coding standards, conducting code reviews and mentoring. Create mockups that show the entire UI including rollovers, ajax layers and different use cases. Stay up to date on latest technology trends concerning Flash, Flex, AIR, Silverlight and other RIA toolsets.
4. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
FORMAL KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Combined 5+ years of industry experience developing in web applications, including 3+ years developing RIA applications.
SKILLS:
Expert knowledge and experience with DreamWeaver, Flex Builder, Visual Studio, and other IDE or an incredible passion, drive and commitment to learn Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming techniques Experience writing Flash applications which consume data from external sources. Experience with Microsoft .NET programming and an interest in other RIA toolsets. Strong knowledge of CSS, DHTML, and JavaScript Working knowledge of C# and the .NET Framework A deep understanding of the customer experience and how to design and deliver solutions that provide measurable results Self-motivation and the ability to act on multiple projects at a time if necessary Ability to interface equally well with designers, back-end developers and other flash developers. Knowledge of Web2.0, including wiki and social networkingMajor Pluses: Experience in developing applications for mobile devices or desire to learn Experience in developing applications on BEA AquaLogic (formerly Plumtree) platform or other portal environments or desire to learn Experience with developing application for social networking sites such as Facebook or strong desire to learn Experience with .Net AJAX toolkitsdf-tc
