Description
Our client located in the Pittsburgh, PA area has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. RPG / AS/400 Programmer. The Senior Programmer/Analyst performs both programming and systems analysis functions to develop, test, document, implement, maintain, and support efficient computer (application) systems to meet the information, control, and the processing needs of the company. The main area of application responsibility/support will be pricing and promotions. Principal Responsibilities include:

. Participate in the RPG/RPGLE SQL and AS/SET programming, testing, documentation, modifications, and implementation of new packages, and/or modified systems in the pricing and promotions area
. Insuring the development and maintenance of documentation for both users and internal IT use.
. Providing on-going analytical and programming support for pricing and promotions.
. Provide written feedback to management on the performance of staff assigned to their projects.
. Reporting project status.
. Interact with the user community to understand their business requirements in order to provide leadership on the use of technology to address their needs.
. Follow departmental standards and procedures.



Key Qualifications:

. Demonstrated skills in programming in RPG/RPGLE, SQL, AS/400 and analysis within computer environments to which they are assigned.
. Strong interpersonal skills with users, executives, internal IT staff, and external individuals.
. Ability to manage customer expectations in terms of delivery of new systems, enhancements, and maintenance projects.
. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
. Ability to establish and maintain professional credibility and personal rapport with users, IT staff, and vendors.
. Ability to interact with non-data processing professionals both in basic computer skills and concepts and support users less technically inclined.
. Promote effective working relationships.
. Familiar with business knowledge: Pricing and Trade promotion concepts.df-tc
