Description
This role's primary role is to provide ongoing maintenance of the desktop and laboratory equipment and network for a 20 person R&D team doing development in Voice over Internet Technologies, specifically for Media Gateway and Media Server Applications.
- The Desktop environment consists of Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server/Exchange 2003.
- Software management is provided with ClearCase, synchronized with other company sites.
- The laboratory environment includes Solaris, Linux, and Windows Servers, as well as proprietary elements supplying VoIP network capabilities used in testing the Media Gateways and Servers.
Additionally, the individual may participate in design and development activities as time permits

Experience/Skills
The successful candidate will have 5 years experience in the following Network Administer skills:
- Solid networking skills in switches/routers/firewalls etc. - capable of tracking and resolving network communication issues.
- Microsoft Certified Engineer with experience in Windows2000/XP/2003 Server, Microsoft Exchange 2003, IIS, and web services.
- Administration/maintenance/configuration of Solaris/Mandrake/Fedora UNIX/Linux servers.
- Scripting in various languages (Perl, VBScript, Windows batch files, Unix scripting, Installshield)
- ClearCase administration
- Virtual Private Network support (CheckPoint SecuRemote)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Additionally, experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
- Voice over Internet Telephony (H.323, SIP, H.248, MGCP)
- PSTN Telephony (ISDN PRI configuration and messaging)
- Capturing and analyzing network traces involving the above protocols.
