Major Position Responsibilities:
  • Support the efficient deployment of the IBM Rational Tool Suite by:
    Assisting project implementation teams with tailoring tool usage models to meet specific client needs.
    Providing support to project implementation teams as they tailor processes and procedures to best leverage the capabilities of the tools.
    Partnering with the Rational Application Support team to support the completion of user acceptance test and training during tool roll out.
    Identify opportunities to leverage untapped capabilities of tools and make recommendations for such improvements to baseline usage model.
  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) and second tier support to internal customers following tool roll out.
  • Effectively manage changes to baseline usage models via the ACS Solutions Center change management process.
  • Provides first line support to the proposal team in responding to how tools may be used to meet customer requirements.
  • Acts as a conduit for the effective flow of communication between the projects and the Rational Application Support Team. This may require participating in a joint status meeting.
  • Other tasks as needed or defined by the Rational Business Support Lead.

    REQUIRED (minimum):
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • At least 3 years experience working in Information technology either in a Business Analyst, Trainer, or Tools Administrator role
  • Previous experience using the Rational Tool Suite or similar tool set
  • Previous experience as a trainer/mentor
  • Demonstrated proficiency in adapting/tailoring best practices/process to business needs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills

    PREFERRED:
  • Experience implementing the Rational Tool Suite
  • Experience implementing a formal Rational Unified Process methodology
  • Experience with Rational RequisitePro, Rational ClearQuest, Rational ClearQuest TestManager, Rational Performance Tester and Rational ClearCase
  • Experience in process development, re-engineering, or methodology development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in adapting/tailoring best practices/processes to business needs
