Description
Well-known, large retail company is now trying to hire a Rational Applications Administrator. This person will be responsible for implementing, supporting and maintaining RequisitePro, TestManager, ClearCase and ClearQuest applications, as well as assisting in the ongoing development and integration of these systems. This position is accountable to the Server Technologies Ancillary Applications Manager.

Daily tasks and responsibilities
Work with the project team to implement RequisitePro, TestManager, ClearCase and ClearQuest.
Develop, customize and integrate Rational products as required
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and basic operations for the Rational applications, including:
Monitoring system logs for performance and stability.
Administration of system data records.
Periodically perform system health checks.
Set up project repositories
Fulfill user requests and standard user-related operations, such as maintaining user security and profiles, loading and unloading system data, performing data up-keep, and running scheduled metrics and analytic processes.
Work with business sponsors to understand, articulate, and determine solutions for business needs, while adhering to defined architectural standards.
Assist in the creation and execution of project plans for the team, identifying key milestones and timetables associated.
Help develop, implement, and maintain standard test plans, and coordinate external testing efforts.
Generate periodic metrics by creating and running reports and compiling data.
Provide documentation for the 1st and 2nd level support teams in order for them to resolve customer issues.
Provide technical support to other areas as needed.
Provide 24X7X365 on-call pager support, as necessary.
Work weekends and/or holidays, as necessary.
Understand and adhere to Costco's Mission Statement and Code of Ethics.
Understand and adhere to the IS departmental Mission Statement.
Provide status reports and project schedules.
Spend a minimum of 50% of hours worked on defined value-added projects. This amount is negotiated upon annually and based upon planned and approved projects.

Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry-specific skills that candidates should possess)
Minimum 3 years experience with Rational products including strong system knowledge of ClearCase, RequisitePro, ClearCase, and TestManager
Minimum 2 years experience with Rational Portfolio Manager
Possess a good understanding of working server environments.
Knowledge of relational databases and basic database concepts. MS SQL Server and DB2 experience preferred.
Proven history with scripting
Ability to coordinate with others to implement cross-department changes.
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
Must be responsible, conscientious and detailed oriented.
Must be able to effectively communicate complex technical information.
Ability to interact well with internal clients, team members, I.T. infrastructure, external vendors and various levels of management.
Will occasionally be required to work extended hours under tight deadline to successfully meet objectives.
Must be able to maintain exceptionally high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
Posses a strong ability to translate user requirements to technical applications/database/report requirements.
Posses a strong Customer Service orientation.
