Leverage your direct sales experience into an exciting career opportunity with a global leader! In this role, you will achieve maximum profitable sales volume with Petco and other customers by developing effective products, packs and programs that contribute to targeted annual growth. Develop effective and productive customer relationships at all levels will be key to your success. You will have complete responsibility for the Petco account, but you will also call on distributors in order to get more independent pet retailers carrying our products. In addition, you will manage West Coast Value channel customers, such as Big Lots and 99 cent stores, and be responsible for developing new customers that currently don't sell our products. Clearly, you will need the ability to sell at all levels, from sophisticated rapidly growing customers like Petco to smaller "Mom & Pop" pet retailers.

You will use your subject matter expertise in the assigned channel to develop business proposals that clearly identify why all of these customers should sell our products. Not only will you will execute national programs of sale, but you will also be charged with the creative task of developing unique customized programs that drive sales growth. You will also analyze accounts in relation to the market and category in order to develop accurate annual sales plans. Your scope of responsibility will be broad... direct sales... customer service ... budget management... all geared towards improving business opportunities within your current accounts while expanding the account base. Our Winning Candidate will Possess:
* A four year degree (preferred).
* At least three years of direct selling experience, preferably in the food industry, including large accounts and headquarter calls. Selling to non-traditional channels is a plus.
* Proven ability to: develop effective business propositions for new customers and channels; create new, innovative ways for customers to sell and merchandise products; manage projects; handle financial concepts and measures; and manage account complexities.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including proven sales ability.
* Strong analytical, technical and computer skills required.
* Willingness to travel 50 % or greater.df-tc
