Description
CDI IT Solutions is seeking an experienced Remedy Administrator/Developer to support a premier Insurance Industry client in the LA area.

This is a direct hire position.


Position Summary:

Under general direction, performs assignments within the Information Technology department as the Remedy Administrator.

Position requires an individual with excellent teamwork and communication skills to be a Subject Matter Expert in BMC Remedy application suite implementation, configuration, administration, and development in a high availability environment.


Job Specifics:

Perform infrastructure planning around package implementation including hardware sizing and capacity planning.

Perform installation of Remedy software/upgrades/patche.

Configure the out-of-the-box Remedy functionality to meet IT and Business needs.

Customize Remedy applications when out-fo-the-box solutions are not adequate.

Gather/document/analyze enhancement requests; evaluate and assess fit between requirements and the Remedy application suite capabilities in support of the department’s philosophy of using standard out-of-the-box functionality, minimizing customizations where possible.

Participate in coordination and planning of development projects including estimating effort and determining schedules
Identify, troubleshoot and resolve BMC Remedy applications issues including root cause analysis.

Integrate Remedy with Enterprise monitoring tools and proactively monitor Remedy applications.

Perform risk identification, assessment, remediation, and performance tuning.

Conduct user training for IT and Business as required.

Create all necessary documentation, training material, and user guides.

Perform mentoring and cross-training for peers.

Stay current on emerging tools, techniques and technologies.

Maintain skills and capabilities through education, training, and hands-on experiences.


A qualified candidate will have experience with:

BMC Remedy (v7.x preferred, v6.x acceptable) products including but not limited to Configuration Management DB (CMDB), IT Service Management (ITSM) Suite including Analytics, Change Management, Flashboards, Migrator, Service Desk, AR System, Service Level Management (SLM), and Service Request Management.

Remedy installation, upgrade, and patching.
Remedy out-of-box configuration and implementation.

Remedy integration with other packages including monitoring tools and Source Control Management tools.

Developing/implementing forms, web forms, active links, filters, escalations, dashboards, menus, guides, data-driven menus/workflow, reporting, and other related components.

Coordination and planning development projects including estimating effort and determining schedules.

Infrastructure planning around package implementation to include hardware sizing, configuration, customization and deployment.

Working knowledge of Remedy IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices related to IT Service Management (ITSM) suite applications.

Software Development Life Cycle. (SDLC)

Working knowledge of change management and configuration management.

Solid understanding of relational databases such as Oracle.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to understand and articulate ideas and concepts in both verbal and written form.

Process and Detail Oriented.

Ability to work independently and with a team; prioritize tasks, work effectively, manage time, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Influential, with the ability to share and receive ideas, but push back if someone is not following project ideology, processes, and procedures.

US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for this position.
