Replacement Project: Desktop PCs and Symbol/Cisco Access Points - - Calera,AL

AUGUST 5th

(Installation script and checklists are currently being created by the client and should be provided soon. Work can be done concurrently.


Summary of above Replacement Project: Desktop PCs and Symbol Access Points

Client will build the new PC's and ship to each site. The technician will de-install old equipment and repack them for shipment back to the corporate office.

Tech will run some scripts to copy data off old machines onto new machines. Each location will take 3-5 hours to complete. Technician will need to arrive onsite at designated time.


Tech needs to be experienced in desktop equipment- Windows experience. No newbies! These regional offices are located either as a stand alone or are in the back of a client store. Work to be performed during regular business hours 9am -5pm. Tech will need to arrive at scheduled time.

Data transfer will be performed using a client supplied crossover cable. Tech will box up old PC and apply a client return label. Secretary will be responsible for shipping unit back to client

Power down and uninstall existing Adtran router and Symbol Access Point

Install new Cisco router, Access Point, Air Magnet and Wireless bridge as needed.

Test devices for connectivity using client supplied script

Troubleshoot problems using laptop and null modem cable (DB9 F-DB9F)

Customer estimates 30 minutes to complete tasks. I estimate 1 additional hour. Customer stated that this work can be completed during the data transfer of the desktop PC.

Customer states no lift required but will need ladder. The APs will be mounted above or near the ceiling tiles.


TOOLS REQUIRED: Laptop, drill (cordless if at all possible), null modem cable, Ladder
