Job Description:
The Reporting Services Support (RSS) Analyst will work closely with operational team leaders, IT staff, program managers and BI solutions users to clarify and translate project requests from business needs to information solutions. This position will especially focus on clarifying and documenting business user requirements. In addition, the RSS Analyst will provide consultative support to business partners on appropriate use of data, the application of reporting, and quality assurance standards. The RSS Analyst will hold primary responsibility for ensuring consistency in data definitions as well as minimizing redundancy across reports for relevant programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with RSS Lead Analyst and Operations to analyze and document business processes and requirements.
  • Must efficiently and effectively analyze and translate business requirements into reporting functional requirements.
  • Collaborates well with project team, business partners, RSS Lead Analyst, and senior level executives.
  • Ability to review reports for trends, outliers, quality, data structure, report validity and data details.
  • Communicates clearly, effectively and in a timely manner with Operations and IT partners.
  • Maintains knowledge inventory of existing reports and analytics by program and educates business users on existing reports to avoid redundancy.
  • Responsible for the gathering and documentation of requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring the full workflow of the reporting request is followed, documented and closed.
  • Plans and manages business requirements, functional requirements, QA and documentation activities.

  • SQL

  • MS SQL Analyzer (Optional
  • Organizational skills to work with a vast array of information and to cope with rapidly changing information.
  • Writing skills to communicate information effectively to all stakeholders and technical team
  • Listening skills - ability to distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true need and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.
  • Detail-oriented, great attention to details.
  • Ability to collaborate and interact with associates at all levels and build strong business liaisons.
  • Excellent communication skills both in writing and orally.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of experience in research, information analysis or program evaluation; OR,
  • Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience in research, information analysis or program evaluation; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
