Client Server Engineer, Sr.

Essential Job Function:
The Client Server Administration (CSA) Architect provides technical expertise in maintaining multiple Microsoft SQL Servers in a growing client/server environment. Duties include the support of production systems and facilitating development efforts by working with architecture and applications DBAs while providing recommendations and implementing approved recommendations to maintain and enhance a strong and stable Client/Server environment.

Responsibilities:
SQL Server problem tracking, isolation and coordination of resolution efforts.
Establish and facilitate proper Change/Release Management policies and procedures.
Defining best C/S application development practices.
OS & SQL Server configuration guidelines/documentation maintenance.
Other projects related to Server Farm initiative.

Preferred Skills/Education:
5+ years of SQL Server administration.
5+ years of NT Server administration.
Database development skills.
Familiar with Release management processes.
High School Diploma.
Strong technical, analytical and organizational skills.
Strong knowledge of Windows NT (v3.51 - v4.0+) OS (pref. MS Certified).
Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (v4.21 - v6.5+) (pref. MS Certified).
Some programming skills, particularly in SQL, Visual Basic, and C++.
Strong knowledge of systems support disciplines such as problem management, change management, security and control, job scheduling, systems management and monitoring, database backup & recovery, database maintenance.
Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
Project management skills to keep projects on time and under budget.
3-5 years experience in the administration of relational databases.
Experience in c/s application development and practices.
Some experience/familiarity with Compaq Server Class systems.df-tc
