Mckesson STAR Applications Analyst – Hospital of Central Connecticut

ACS Healthcare Solutions has an opportunity for a Patient Accounting professional with strong experience that will contribute to revenue cycle improvement initiatives representing Patient Accounts.

The successful candidate will have hands on experience in Patient Accounting applications as well as revenue cycle applications. Candidates must have a strong understanding of efficient billing processes. This position is responsible for providing technical expertise to the Application Analysts, the client and coordinating with the Data Center organization.Within the scope of this position are:

Job Responsibilities:

· Work effectively with team members on multiple projects.

· Participate in systems design and architecture supporting hospital best practices, implementingsolutions according to project plans and project timelines.

· Participate in standardized enterprise design, documentation, database build, validate, development and functional testing of Revenue Cycle applications.

·
· Demonstrate working knowledge of Patient Accounting departments including regulatory requirements and business flow processes.

· Will identify, classify and document project meetings, project issues and design decisions in accordance with ACS Systems Project Management Methodology.

· Project team members will actively participate in issues resolution, training or process re-design.

· Will recommend best practice solutions in partnership with client.

· Participate with client's domain experts in developing training material and teaching/end user training for new technology

· Participate in conversion and post-conversion product support and assist project leads as required.

Required Skills:

· STAR Patient Accounting implementation and/or support experience (2 years)

· Healthcare experience in a Patient Accounting setting (2 years)

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills

· Ability to communicate and collaborate with multiple project teams and clients

Desired Skills:

· Implementation and/or system support experience with other Revenue Cycle applications

· Project management skills



CPAM certification, preferably
Expert understanding of Patient Accounting process flow including regulatory compliance, denial management, claim processing, SIM/FIM process.
Familiar with 3M Core Grouping product
Familiar with E-Premis product
Familiar with Cerner Charge Services
Experience with Mckesson STAR software suite including RWS
Excellent interpersonal skills, (both verbal and written), as well as excellent organizational skills.


Strong customer service focus to build and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Ability to work on your own, with solid problem solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with both non-technical and technical staff and vendors.
Experience with healthcare informatics and/or application development.
Experience with MS office software, and Microsoft operating environments.
STAR forms/menu’s certification, preferably
STAR ESD Certification, preferably



MinMinimum Educational Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
