Experience/Skills
Administer, maintain, and provide ongoing support for the storage environment, which includes both SAN and Backup/Recovery. Responsibilities include: SVC, TPC, TSM, software installation, configuration, upgrades, microcode maintenance of EMC, IBM (disk and tape), Brocade hardware; SAN Zoning, physical cabling, LUN creation and assignment, Storage mirroring, performance monitoring; capacity and utilization reporting, resource usage forecasting, development and testing of back up and recovery procedures for managed software and hardware; problem identification and resolution, implementation and maintenance of security standards related to managed technologies, and documentation. Assist in the research, analysis, and recommendation of standards, procedures, and new technologies to improve storage availability, performance, and recovery. Assess project proposals for compliance with storage standards, risk, implementation and ongoing support requirements, and ability to meet proposed timelines. Perform the role of lead Storage Administrator for assigned projects. Organize and lead meetings. This position may be required to access confidential data in order to perform job responsibilities. On-call support responsibilities are required. Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Information Technology preferred. Three years of System Administration (Windows, UNIX, or Mainframe), SAN, or TSM (Backup/Recovery) experience is required. Hands-on experience with any of the following software or hardware products is desired: IBM software products (SVC. TPC, TSM), IBM DS4xxxx, IBM DS8xxxx, EMC CXxxx, Brocade switches, AIX, Familiarity with the following operating systems is considered a plus: Windows, AIX, Linux, or VMWare.. Must have demonstrated the ability to research, analyze, and recommend new standards, processes, or technologies to improve storage availability, performance, or recoverability. Must have demonstrated the ability to define the scope, level of effort, and implementation timeline for assigned projects. Must have demonstrated the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to achieve corporate objectives.
