CDI is looking for a SAN Administrator to join our team in Richmond, VA.

1st shift


Seasoned Resource with 8-10 years Backup-SAN experience, with over 5 Years of Operating System (UNIX) Administration experience:

Co-ordinate tasks for IT-specific and business projects to design and implement Backup solutions in a tiered-storage environment.

Provide consultancies for the Backup-SAN infrastructure for the projects.

Deploy and maintain end to end Backup-SAN environment; Managing backend Tape Libraries and VTL Brocade Fabric and connectivity to host:

Set-up backup-SAN-infrastructure for a new system.

Use Command Line tools to set up TSM Servers.

Configure Client-Utilities for TSM Clients on heterogeneous clients.

Implement Tivoli data protection for SQL and exchange.

Use Command-line and GUI based tools to zone Systems with Tape Libraties and VTLs on the Brocade fabric.

Troubleshoot issues related to TSM Servers, Clients, VTLs and libraries. (Includes OS troubleshooting)

Integrate TSM with Oracle RMAN backup.

Set-up NDMP based backup for Network Attached Storages ( NAS ).

3. Operating System Specific Tasks for setting up new configurations and troubleshooting:
a. Applying sys-admin skills related to HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, Linux, Windows 2000/2003, Perl/Korn Shell scripting, WinNT/2K shell commands.
b. Understanding and providing Backup-SAN solutions for database specific requirements. (Oracle, SQL, DB2)
c. Applying knowledge of basic networking skills and theory, and identifying network related performance issues.

Level 5, Seasoned Resource with 8-10 years Backup-SAN experience, with over 5 Years of Operating System (UNIX)

Administration experience:

In addition to the skills, candidate should have the skills to evaluate new technologies and recommend technology refresh.

Propose the optimum Backup-SAN architecture for business projects by evaluating application and System requirements.

Be proactive and take a holistic approach with operating systems, Applications and Databases to evolve through the process of continues improvement.df-tc
